DESCRIPTION

Spectacular plant native to Madagascar and one of the most popular indoor plants. It also helps to purify the air.

Scientific name: Dypsis lutescens

Curiosities: It is named bamboo palm or yellow palm because of its ringed trunks, reminiscent of bamboo.

CARE

Temperature: Suitable for warm climates, its optimum temperature is between 18ºC and 25ºC but it adapts well to cold weather.

Light: It requires indirect light, it does not tolerate direct sun, but it needs a lot of light for its correct development.

Watering: Frequent in the warm months, every 10 days in winter. Water without puddling the pot, it does not tolerate waterlogging. It needs constant humidity so it needs spraying or the use of a humidifier.

Potting: Every two weeks, especially in spring and summer.

Transplanting: Every 1-2 years, in spring. Condition with a light, well-drained substrate.
